I have been trying to find out more about a brooch and tie pin I have, but nothing like them seem to be found on the internet.
Any help with figuring out dates or makers or what it's purpose was on the brooch would be greatly appreciated. It also has no detectable makers marks. And if anyone knows what date the tie pin was made or where it was sold or any value, would be great too. I will attach pictures.

If you would be so kind as to edit your post and select 'show all images full size' that would be great.

Most new members miss that little trick. So much easier to view now. TY

Welcome Rhiannon. They both look very nice, but my old eyes are having difficulty discerning details from a photo with a flash against a dark background.
It is easier to take photos in natural light against a light background. That can be a simple piece of paper.;)

I think the pretty clip thing is a chatelaine with a vinaigrette. My guess is late 19th century.
You would clip the chatelaine in your waistband or belt, and there would be a piece of cotton wool or a wad of another material soaked in scented water in the basket.
Originally vinaigrettes held stronger smelling scents like vinegar, to help against fainting spells due to tight corsets.:inpain:

Any ideas on what the chatelaine with vinaigrette could be made of? I am guessing copper, only because of the green-ish tarnish I see on the basket. Might be brass too, but I doubt it.

Alright, well . . . would any one know what these things could be worth? Or maybe know of any online places that are good for figuring out values?
I am looking to eventually sell these, and I really just wanted a rough estimate of what I should ask for. ;)

Yes, I am sorry, I knew this really wasn't the place to ask that.
I just thought it was worth a shot since I can't seem to find anything similar to these items online.
I would love to keep these in my collection, but it is hard times sadly.
I do appreciate the bits of info people contributed on this page, thank you.
    :)
I do have a few more interesting items to post in the future that I have no clue about , and maybe someone here would.
How did I get these items? Well, I inherited them from my parents that frequented auctions back in the 60's and 70's in Texas. :)

For the vinaigrette chatelaine you could check Etsy or Ebay. Search for 'antique brass chatelaine'.
You could try Victorian as a search term, but a lot of new brass stuff is sold as Victorian too, if they think it could possibly resemble the style.

    Good luck!:)
