Tennessee Sugar Chest Worth?

good day all - i am new to this site and looking forward to your expertise and information. i came across this sugar chest from tennessee, it is sturdy and in tact with a water stain on the top but so cool anyway, any idea how much it is worth? would you know how old it is approx.? thank you all - any information is good information

 

liveauctioneers.com shows a wide range in prices on similar chests, from $100 to $6,000. Are there any markings? How do you know it's from TN? You should post more pictures: one of the entire chest, details like drawer dovetails, underside, back, inside, and hardware. That will allow some of the period furniture experts on here to give you better info.

And don't get too excited until you have more information, but the one that looked most similar sold for $2500

 

Impossible to date this sugar chest never mind a value for it with the photos provided.
As Mark noted, the value really is all over the place with these southern furniture forms.
The better examples that are valuable are Federal-era (1790-1830) Sheraton or Hepplewhite, hand-made and usually have inlay.

Sheraton style, guesses mid 19th century or later so not period, and appears to be heavily restored.
