Featured Need help with stone ID orangey pink with purple highlights

This stone is in a sterling silver setting, I'm hoping the stone is not just glass and may be a gem stone. It is a clear, orangish pink with lots of bright purple highlights in it, but they are not showing well at all in the pics. I don't see the highlights from the back of the stone, I just now noticed. So maybe a finish on the front? Thanks for any help.

 

Not a stone, art glass called Dragon's Breath
It is sought after, not a simple glass, it has colour flashes, and the orangy ones are older than the red.

Bingo! Pre-WWII for sure, probably 1930s. They made a yellow version too that went out of use at about the same time. The glass was meant to resemble Mexican opal, but it's collected in its own right. The opals are too of course.
