They're for measuring something, since they have metric rulers attached. Medical or scientific. Beyond that, dunno.

It was easy enough to look up. I now know what it is without particularly knowing what it is.

I also don’t know. Clearly some measuring thing. For a Taylor to
    measure sizes?

I've been having a spell of good luck lately. (Knock on wood.) Here's two of the more interesting recent finds:

    8C211F61-F9C4-4C7D-B668-B7DB3CA84B96.jpeg

An older, larger (11") Siletz tribe Native American basket in great condition.

76C8F86D-A9E0-424A-8321-765206719310.jpeg And an old block and tackle rig + 100' of what I assume to be hempen rope. Cool for $5!

It isn't for measuring anything tangible. But it is a measuring device.

I'm guessing none of you lot did Physics at school. ;)

    Kate is absolutely the closest.

I scored a huge pile of Disney collector pins plus bags at a tag sale yesterday morning when there weren't any sales due to the storm moving in. The collector bag minis, nwt, were marked $25 each original park retail. I got two of those, the two big bags and I haven't even counted the pins, for $25. They're not antiques or even 20 years old, but someone's going to find my listing and be a happy camper!

...not everything that is old is valuable & not everything that is valuable is old.

This is why I do not discount collectibles until I do some quick research.

It might look cute on you.

I took high school physics, but we never had anything like that kicking around. The chem lab may have, but we students weren't trusted with the good stuff.
