thick brass letters 2" tall

    any ideas what these might have been used on?...two small threaded holes in each one....TIA 001.JPG 003.JPG

    They don't appear to be brass. Not that helps determine the usage. See if a magnet sticks to them. If not, and if they're relatively lightweight, they could be aluminum.

    quite heavy,definitely brass...maybe tin coating...old chrome on some????...guess they could have been used...,/.,./.,anywhere?

    Photos are a bit deceiving. Yes, a lot of uses for those...architectural monograms, names, etc.

    They appear to be thin brass shells filled with plaster or concrete. You can see this where the filler is chipped. Doesn’t matter to present owner but if he advertises them I know he won’t want someone to buy thinking they are solid brass.

    could vanna figure it out?..:nailbiting:...each one has two holes drilled/taped,about 1/16" dia....solid brass

    Ya keep writin’ “solid brass” but they aren’t. Lookie here:

    1. Thin brass shell
    2. Chipped plaster filling

    The threaded brass are small threaded pegs inserted in the plaster, possibly soldered to the shell.

    Thanks, yes that proves they are solid brass, I sure was fooled by the pictures!
