    What a beauty!!!!

Trying to sell an old piece of jewelry that needs repair is not that easy. You will lose
a lot of buyers who don't want to or just can't deal with the repair, plus you will get less for it.

If I had it I would take it to a jeweler to replace the pearl. If you have one that works give it to them to set it. If not, find a jeweler who has old stock to draw from. They will also clean it and make sure all the other pearls are secure.

I am lucky enough to work with a jeweler who bought a lot of old pearls from someone who was retiring when I had an old piece that needed repair :)

    :hilarious: Am I so unique?:joyful:

Cheryl is the wizard of marks!:woot:

Your brooch-pendant is charming, really sought after Edwardian (even if American:facepalm:) piece!

I can't even notice where is the missing pearl :cyclops:!

First is to see if you have convenient seed bead seed Pearl!)... As these genuine ones are very difficult to find, I often go with nail art supply, I got a carrousel with several sizes! Next is to glue one using a tooth pick or a needle to put only a very tiny amount of glue in the cup... Then pick your tiny pearl domed part up with another toothpick you wet the end with your saliva to put it in right position:happy:

Do NOT pour the glue directly from the container, even if it has a thin opening!!!

Do NOT try to put your replacement pearl either with thin tweezers or your finger!!!:nailbiting:

I so understand you when you say you WANT to give it a try:joyful:

The notion of independence didn't have much impact on the world of style and period terms in the US, did it.;) You are free, people, free!:singing::hilarious: You are allowed to call it early 20th century.:playful: Or Teddy Roosevelt-Taft period.:joyful:

Thanks Kyra. If I have the right pearl, I'll think about it again.

    Update:

I couldn't find the seed pearls at my store. It's just as well, I have very little will power.
I brought the brooch to the jeweler next door. He's going to put in a replacement pearl for $20. I'll pick it up in about 2 weeks.
I can't wait to see it!

That's a cheap fix, well worth it.

That's what I figured. Having it complete will certainly increase the selling price by at least $20.

And if it's intact no one can try to get a 50% discount for damage.(LOL sort of)

I'm glad too! I'm very lucky I have a friendly jeweler next door, although I rarely take advantage of it.

    Thank you.
No - I'm not thinking of keeping it. I only wear sterling and white gold.
