Featured Just a chamberstick, wondered if anyone knew how old it could be xx

    I didn't even know there WAS a Great Exhibition in 1877. Knew about the 1851 one, how interesting

    Lol, yeah I hear you. I just linked it. It's the internet, we have to take things with a grain of salt.

    I believe the entered at Stationers Hall refers to the actual printing that is on the chamberstick as they were originally a printing company.

    Ah! That makes sense. Very interesting altogether,had a bit of an education today ( and every day actually ,always finding out out stuff I dont know but probably should, but today's was actually interesting) xx

    Stationers Hall isn't a printing company. It is one of the ancient livery companies of the City of London. If you like, they're the precursors and originators of trade or professional organisations. That design would have been registered there. The full name is the Worshipful Company of Stationers and Newspaper Makers.

    I love the livery companies, they're fascinating - and still being formed, there's one for IT.
