Nathan Freudenthal Leopold Jr. (November 19, 1904 – August 29, 1971) and Richard Albert Loeb (June 11, 1905 – January 28, 1936), usually referred to collectively as Leopold and Loeb, were two wealthy students at the University of Chicago who in May 1924 kidnapped and murdered 14-year-old Bobby Franks in Chicago, Illinois. They committed the murder—characterized at the time as "the crime of the century"—as a demonstration of their ostensible intellectual superiority, which they believed enabled and entitled them to carry out a "perfect crime" without consequences. 3.jpg 2.jpg 1.jpg

    Morbidly interesting!
But why does your post title say it's a University of Chicago annual when it clearly states University of Michigan? In 1921, Loeb transferred from U of C to U of M, though he later returned to U of C for graduate work.

My mistake. I have the University of Chicago book as well. I'll have to dig it out of my closet.

....lol....and we have a lot of these people running the world today.... so I would contend, while they got caught, they were pioneers for the elites that followed. I mean, just to name a few, look at twitter, FB and Google for wonderful modern examples.
