Ceremonial Cane Identification?

    I'm in need of some help identifying this (ceremonial?) cane that I picked up at my grandmothers estate. I've attached a few photos. The shaft has very unfortunately been broken and poorly repaired.

    The knob handle appears to be hand engraved - not sure what kind of metal. Brass? The entire cane is exactly 35" long.

    It feels heavier than it should. Is there a metal core in the shaft? Or just very dense wood?

    What can you tell me about it? What kind of wood was used? What era/When was it made, and who possibly made it? What is it worth?

    Are there places out there that could repair this cane? Such as replace the wood shaft?

    I'm very grateful for your time and knowledge on this. Thanks in advance!

    From the pictures shown the handle looks like gold or gold plated brass.
    The shaft maybe ebony or another dense hardwood making it heavy.
