Featured English Mulberry Transferware Covered Jar

    Would anyone know the purpose of this pot? 6" tall. The lid has a steam hole. Unmarked base.

    Perhaps a covered sugar bowl? Of course, that wouldn't need a "steam hole." ;)

    HA! Soup Tureen was on the tip of my tongue, but when you say only 6" tall, I have to start up my brain!!!!!! At the VERY least, I LOVE it!!!!!!!!!!:jawdrop::):)

    The lid does not appear to have a place for a ladle to sit.

    Owned, no spoon slot in the lid.

    Vegetable tureens didn't have slots or holes.
