with his job I can fully understand that he's a bit thin skinned at the moment.

As @BoudiccaJones said, it is not whether you have a knowledge base, but whether you can see the difference between the two sculptures.

I understand the pressure someone is under, and I know many here are under pressure, one way or another. Some pressure is near unbearable, even without the current covid situation. And seeing suffering and so many deaths in a short period of time will also affect your sense of humour and your ability to put things in perspective, I get that.
But the ability to put things in perspective, and a healthy sense of humour are a tremendous help when trying to cope with life's difficulties, especially the extreme ones.
I am not a covid and cancer research nurse, but I have suffered a range of severe and life threatening illnesses, all throughout my life. I was in my twenties when I was told that any simple infection, for instance the common cold, could kill me. Since then, every tiny infection has been a potential killer. It is my lifelong sword of Damocles.
Apart from that I have been, and am still being, confronted with cancer, dementia and other illnesses in loved ones, just like so many people here.
So yes, I understand life and death pressure, albeit in a different way. But one of the ways to cope with it has been my sense of humour. That can leave me in dark hours, but I always work hard to get it back, because it works like a medicine. So please people, laugh, crack a joke, find your sense of humour.:)

Great message and very well put. Thank you for the inspiration and honesty! Sometimes you just need to read a message like that to put things into perspective. :)

Stephen, I am glad it helps. Try to bring back that smile when things get difficult. You will help yourself, and your colleagues too.
And remember, laughing also boosts the immune system.:)

I am sorry your feelings were hurt! It appears to be the 1st attempt at the casting of pot metal junk. I have tried to dabble in casting and mine did not look so rough. This item was cast VERY poorly. Sorry, you take offense at reading the truth.
