I would like to have information on this MASSIVE Italian turkey platter.

It is 24 X 171/2 inches oval and 3 inches high.

    Item number 502/0770

    Maker: Mancioli

Any information would be appreciated...maker, value, and how best to sell.

    Thanks in advance

Walter was indeed an expert and very good fellow but sadly he passed a few years back.

So sorry to hear that. Folks on these forums can begin to feel like friends.

Perhaps someone will recognize this platter or maker and guide me .

The condition is perfect; there is a tiny glitch in the glaze on the back...but this is original and normal on a piece this size

Those are probably pattern numbers and nothing to do with how many they made.

    Thanks Janet!!

That information helped me to find the image on Replacement's website.

    It is MANCIOLI

Any help with value and best way to sell would be appreciated.

(I am a print dealer, so that would represent an edition to me).

Maybe someone with a WP account can get you what that one in Janetpjohn's link sold for.

If you do wind up selling online, shipping that plate is going to be expensive. You'll have to find a box well beyond the 24 x 17 size to account for packing. USPS and others have really ramped up shipping costs recently for oversized items as they take up volume in a truck. Might argue for a local sale.

Thank You Lucille and Tamoor- This helps.
Shipping prices certainly have become an issue.
