Spoons With Dates - A thing?

    Thanks for the encouragement. I’ll snap a pic before they get sent off. Now I just have to get around to getting down to the jeweler.

    Not many people bother to "darn" anymore. Years back, my grandmother was the queen of darning - socks, sweaters - you name it! Think "Depression mentality" and "fixing" rather than "replacing" an item with a hole in it.

    The very next video showed how to repair a rather large hole in the heal of a wool sock. I can remember my mom darning some of my dad's socks, but she gave it up eventually like everyone did.

    In the video her stitches seemed a little loose, but since I've never done this before, I'm not a good judge. Maybe being loose, she didn't feel a big lump in the sock when she wore it.
