Hey all! I wanted to share with you all this really amazing carved sculpture I came across. It’s pretty amazing, although, not to be made fun of here, but it’s got some sort of spirit or entity attached to it, I think. Y’all might laugh or think I’m losing my fruit (or whatever that expression is), but the other night I had him (I named him Mr. Rutagengwa) sitting on a shelf in the corner of my room and my boyfriend was over. I noticed as we were sleeping that boyfriend was having a troubled bit of sleep, kept jerking around as if he was being stabbed or something was poking into his back… So, the next time he jerked, I shot upright and looked over the side of the bed, and I swear to y’all, on everything I find sacred, I saw this brown shape wisp away so fast back into the corner where Mr. Rutagengwa sits…his eyes also follow you everywhere in the room and I’ll find him in a different position than how I left him all the time. It’s kind of creepy. But only kind of…..I put the bell necklace on him just in case he moves like that again…
Just looking at a picture of Mr Rutagengwa, convinced me to close my eyes, mumble something in a foreign language and throw myself out of the window Luckily though I was in the downstairs kitchen
Mr R. may found his love interest, and therefore, put a voodoo curse on your bf. I'd be afraid if I were him.
I believe you Vesuvia! I might be a whack a doodle but Ive always thought objects can be haunted. I told a story on here one time about a photo of a very handsome gent I found behind an old print ,and as soon as I exposed it it seemed like everything was suddenly going wrong. Long story short, after a couple of weeks of madness I took that darn picture, frame and all,and nuked it on the bbq. Literally the next day everything started righting itself . Coincidence? I think not !
Time to set up a camera and see if you can capture this strange thing happening. I hear the Twilight Zone music.
I was in a real bad state once after a weekends partying, bed ridden for 2 days with alcohol poisoning. Woke in the night and went downstairs to get a drink. As I was leaving the kitchen and went to turn the light off, I saw a tiny bright little light circle in a make up mirror on the kitchen table and follow me out of the room Only very quickly from the corner of my eye from a mirror But enough to believe that someone was looking over me
I can't say anything about his supposed powers, but he looks like a contemporary version of a Kuba (Bushoong) Ndop figure - a representation of a king. The Kuba kingdom is located in the current Democratic Republic of the Congo. https://www.brooklynmuseum.org/opencollection/objects/4791
Vesuvia, it sounds like there is someone in Congo who doesn't like the tourist trade. My advice, put a cup of very sweet tea in front of your Mr. Rutagengwa by way of an offering, and say: "Brown shape, I respectfully ask you to go back to the storage facility where the other souvenirs from Congo live." Then go away for an hour or so. If the teacup is empty when you return, 'brown shape' will have had his tea and left for the souvenir storage facility. If the teacup hasn't been touched, he already left after you spotted him that night. If he turned the cup upside down or broke it, you'll have to take more drastic measures.
Sounds bonkers but when we moved in to our house there were all sorts of disturbances. Just noises , footsteps and an odd sensation. The old lady who lived there died in the house. One day I got some fresh flowers and put them in a vase on the windowsill and announced to the empty house ‘These are for you Olive’ . I’ve not heard another odd noise since so…… Yep, bonkers……I know. I’ve never told anyone else I did that
That was a very sweet thing to do, K. I guess she just wanted to be acknowledged. And maybe a bit of kindness she may not have had towards the end.
Well if she hears you calling her a “a miserable old trout” then she will definitely be back. You better put the kettle on!
Seeing or feeling a presence from the non-tangible world is not strange for people with my cultural/spiritual background, and to many of us it is an everyday thing. In many parts of the world the tangible and non-tangible are viewed as different aspects or layers of one reality. But I must say, I have never seen or felt a non-tangible presence from a souvenir.
