The estate sale had a large amount of Chinese artifacts. I do not know how old this horn is or what kind of animal it came from. The auctioneers said it was a SINO-TIBETAN LIBATION 'LOTUS POND' HORN. The horn is 9" long. Any help you could give me would be awesome. Thank you

The shape looks more like yak horn, which would be consistent with a Tibetan origin. But the surface is rather peculiar. Perhaps it has been coated with a lacquer?

Can't really help on this other than the agreeing the surface is odd - either as @2manybooks says, some form of lacquer which has degraded or an intentional aged effect.

Intriguing. It could be Sino-Tibetan, but what I see is more Sino (Chinese) than Tibetan.
I wonder if @Asian Fever is still around? If so, Asian, could you take a look?:)

Looks like yak horn to me too.
However, I cannot give more information about this piece coz I don't have much knowledge in this area. Sorry.
