I saw this in an antique shop several years ago and fell in love with the colors and lighting. Can't remember what I paid for it, but I know I wouldn't have paid over $15. I'm cheap that way. Does anyone recognize the artist's signature? Orsino? Crsino?

Orsino is as good a guess as any. Could maybe be Casino. Either way, I think this is probably a decorator painting and may not be a real artist anyway.

A lot of those factory paintings have that linen inset frame. 20160507_2578__01.JPG

Thanks, both. Glad I didn't pay a lot for it.

    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

    I'll agree with the above.
Even so, these merchants know what they're doing when they make pretty, serene, well-balanced landscapes in colors that complement popular décor schemes... so... it's a pretty painting and most people will find it nice for their homes. On a related note, Orsino is a character in Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night"... he is a romantic, self-absorbed fellow who is obsessed with a heroine.

That art factory city was featured in a task in last night's episode of The Amazing Race! I was going to mention here today, but Bev beat me to it!

While paintings like the OP's are usually done freehand and done very quickly, masterpieces are often copied more mechanically: a large inkjet printer lays out a light copy of the original painting on canvas and an "artist" then paints over it. That's why you can order something like the Mona Lisa in different but perfectly scaled sizes.
