Featured Thrift Store Find

I love shopping at thrift stores and garage sales. When I pick up my latest treasure, I feel more like I've rescued these things, saving them to give them new life.

Today's treasure is a small rush seat chair that I picked up for $3.00 at a thrift store. The label on the bottom says, "Northwest Chair Co. Tacoma, Wash." There's another label that says No. 10825 Seat Woven by Allen (I think), (last name illegible) and the date looks like it's 5/25/34.

I don't want to sell the chair, but I am curious as to its value -- I'll just bet it's worth more than the $3.00 I paid for it!

The seat is nice and the wood will touch-up well. If solid, it's a fine chair for $3. To me, its style looks to be late 1930s through late 40s, so that date fits.
Some estate sales may have asked $15 for similar.

 

Wouldn't that be one of a set of dining room chairs?
