Oil Seascape - titled on back "Beaching the Boat" - indistinct signature

Bought this oil painting on canvas many years ago and was advised that it would be worth having it cleaned but never did. The painting does bear a signature. Does anybody recognise the location (possibly south coats) and the artist - any thoughts/comments would be gratefully appreciated.

 

Think you're right re South Coast. You might be able to identify exact location with a Google Image search. In meantime, would/could you post a photograph of the back? With close-up photographs any stickers, labels or handwritten notations.

I see Gomersen or Somersen. (Name is more legible on the back) Can find no match for either.

Nice painting, I like it . Where are you located , not sure what you mean by "South Coast". Is the writing on the back Pyrography ( wood burning ) ? That was definitely " in vouge" circa 1910'ish or so into the 30's I might say ?????? . Reminds me of Italian fisherman in Santa Cruz here in California , same time period and before .....

It does seem sometimes to get misspelled as Domersen.

Not convinced this is who we're looking for. Maybe someone to rule out.
