    How big is the glass? The size will help determine what it was used for.

    IMHO the market for these would not be vast due to the monogram (unless you find someone with those initials), the gold-encrusted details would not appeal to today's buyers (they would have to be hand-washed), I can see no mark so unless you could determine who the maker was that would just add to them being a difficult sale, & the loss of gold encrusting would not help either.

    Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

    I agree with everything that bercrystal wrote.

    Thank you so much for your help. I have just passed it her what you said about all. She was going to buy these glasses who was tried to sell her told it was used to Buckingham Palace (Her Majesty Service) that's why I have asked here to get more information because I have no idea.

    Thanks again x

    Surely, anything out of Buckingham Palace would have the Royal Cypher on them? Or the royal coat of arms...

    Tell your friend to pass on these quickly & I hope the seller was joking around when she said these were used at the palace. :eek::facepalm::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

    I would venture a guess that what is used at the palace was made by one of the companies in the United Kingdom that produce cut glass stemware. :p

    Not to mention the initials on the stem are I believe MSH. Her name is Elizabeth. His name was Philip. The family name is Windsor. None of these match those initials. :oops::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

    Maybe the seller meant Caesar's Palace.

    lovely. I think they are from the late Princess Margrets household.
    HMS = Her Majesty's Sistah.
    or it was for an illegitimate Irish son of King Ralph that was named Stephen after Stephen Dedalus.
