I am a little teapot, short and stout....

Would anyone have any ideas on this little estate sale teapot? I believe it is from a child's tea set (see the note taped to it - so sad that whoever didn't want this reminder of "Mimi"). I figured from the Made in Japan, it would be post WW2?
Have to say, I am a sucker for children's tea sets. I have about 6, LOL!

From the style I suspect this one is possible inter-war period. If you don't know already it is in the Jackfield style which is mid to late Victorian.

IMHO, it is a "personal" teapot (serving 1), rather than specifically manufactured as a child's teapot, and from the 1920s-50s.
Do an eBay search of vintage brown painted Japan teapot and you will see many similar for pricing ideas, if needed.

 

Size would help.

I don't know that I've ever seen a lid quite like this one before. It is very deep for the size of the pot.
And yes, @Pattywithay , it has found a new happy home.

I wonder what the difference in lids is for? It's actually a little more difficult to remove than a standard lid.

 

Likely just manufacturers trying new things, trying to reinvent the wheel.

 

Do you have an inability to detect the size of items? here I can see a sticky note on the bottom, so knowing the general size of a square sticky note I would say the teapot is around 4" tall. On that basis I would suggest the length of the teapot is more or less the same. Maybe you might be able to suggest an answer to the original post with this valuable information.

 

So sorry, guess my pink ruler did not stand out well enough in the photos with a purple background. The teapot is almost 4" tall.
