You probably missed this answer @Belgaqueen :):
I forgot to post the 7 sacred metals yesterday, but here they are: Copper, tin, lead, zinc, gold, silver, mercury. I said before, mercury is regarded as a metal in this case.
Percentages vary, but are generally in the order I put them in, from highest to lowest. It can be surprising, I tested a ceremonial knife from West Java, Indonesia and the result was 10 carat gold content. That is not the case with yours, the colour is different.

Good to have a fellow Brabantse (would that be Brabançonne, like the anthem?) on Antiquers.:) Adoptive or not, that is what you are now. You can have multiple identities, after all.

I know the feeling. Maybe confusing at times, but more often enriching.

I'll have to take some. It is a Kujang Siliwangi with a lot of symbolism. I also have a Hindu era Kujang, a true beauty. To me at least.

This is the Kujang Hindu without 'clothing', it is now reunited with the Cirebon keris style hilt and sheath it came in:

It is said the three holes either stand for the three kingdoms on Java at the time it was made, or for the Trimurti: Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva.
With some imagination you can see the shape of Java in the Kujang.

I am usually more of a keris person, but if another ceremonial knife or dagger speaks to me, it is welcome. My keris are mostly from Java and Madura.

@Silver Wolf I don't think it wants to be photographed. In spite of the sunny day every photo comes out royal blue. Appropriate maybe, Siliwangi was a king....
I'll see if it is in a more photographic mood tomorrow.

Mine wasn't found in a river, but came from a Dutch-Indonesian (Indo) family. Treasured for generations, but the present generation lost interest in 'that old stuff'.

Btw, I don't know about kujang, but if a keris is found in a river, the owner wanted to get rid of it because he or she thought it brought bad luck.
