Featured Art Deco bracelet?

I'm a bit confused about this pretty one, is it Deco or a much later copy? 1inch wide and 6 and a half inches long. The rectangular fastening made me more inclined to think it was Deco because it looks like a brass replacement and doesn't match the other copper rectangular connection. No makers marks, could be rhodium plated metal, just a tiny smidge of rust on the clasp hinge. The stones are glass. Any thought please anyone? Thank you.

I have to say I my first instinct is older, Deco or so. It is incredibly cool, really something. An interesting combination with that copper. Maybe German? Really striking.

The way the stones are set reminds me of many older pieces I've owned, but I have never had anything in this construction. The little touch like the rhinestones on the little closing clasp looks like something they would have done back then.

It is a fascinating bracelet. Wait for other responses, of course.

could also be an Italian copy of a French maker with all those "pierre pavé" stones.

 

Thanks Lucille. One if the green stones is missing on the other side of the clasp but doesn't really notice. Very happy to pick this up for little money at the CShop.

 

If there has to be a stone missing, that is where you would want it.

Would love to have gotten this for "little money".

Art Deco and I've never seen one that used copper. For some reason (and along with other design elements,) that makes me think later rather than earlier in period.

Maybe a 40s copy of deco ?

 

I get the feeling this is just post-WWII, transition from Deco to Retro.

 

Personally, I think it is 1950s-60s.

 

I'd have been thinking early to mid-50s. They redid some Deco designs then, the pot metal would fit, and the copper from the modernist pieces was bleeding over. The design is very Art Deco. Since it's headed straight into a hoard/collection the exact age probably isn't as important.

 

Thanks to all. I’m glad I asked as I couldn’t make up my mind. It has design and metal elements that make it difficult to pin down date wise. A good buy for £2.50.

Blimey. I'd have grabbed that. I agree on 50s ish copy of Deco - that pot metal back looks right for then. Very nice indeed.

 

A good example of costume jewellery from that period, I suppose you haven't found any makers mark ?

 

No, I’m afraid there’s nothing.

 

There was a wide range of makers and subcontractors for costume jewellery, they use same materials and it's just the quality which define the great names, when it's made like a normal jewel without glueing the stones, or with crimping as it seems visible on some pictures for the cut stones, signs of quality, the bad ones are molded and make more like plastic than metal engineering.
