@James Conrad @verybrad @gregsglass I took a little time to polish up the desk. Still have a little brass to finish. I noticed as I have a few more pieces like a wardrobe and what I thought was a bench but after some research I believe it's the center portion to a drop leaf table and an old grandfather clock, they are all mahogany and seem to be construted the same way with brass if it has any, the same color stain an look to them. The table has a stamp mark underneath but it is very hard to make out. I am on my way to my storage where all the pieces are I will take a picture of the mark and post it shortly. Here is the wardrobe and drop leaf center I have IMG_0780.JPG IMG_0783-1.JPG IMG_0780.JPG IMG_0783-1.JPG IMG_0780.JPG IMG_0783-1.JPG IMG_0777.JPG IMG_0778.JPG

A Line by Line repro of the Townsend chest by Kindel coming to market this week at Pook. Interesting that there are aprox. 8 of these chest signed by Townsend known, from 1765 to 1790 so this style stayed popular a long time. And yeah, i threw a bid on it, as close as I'll ever get to a signed townsend piece, that's for sure, last signed one sold went for something like 5 mil.

Thanks so much your guys, iv actually learned a lot about myself antiques since getting is desk. Would you happen to have know what this desk would sell for. I noticed esome signaturs thha the drawers block and unable to read what they say. And on the back of the single long drawer is Damon desk in cursive. Does this tell maybe who the maker was

Well, prices are all over the place on repro colonial furniture, auctions, retail settings, etc. If it was built by a known high quality maker that makes a difference as well, in repro above, it's Kindell so high quality maker plus they were granted access to an original to make the line by line thingy.
Follow this repro above, selling this week so you'll know pretty soon, estimate is 400-600

Naturally, there are reproductions that are built by hand EXACTLY the way it was done in the 18th century. Jeffrey Greene in Newport RI has been building these pieces for years and, they go for thousands.

Kindell repro sold for $1438. today, not bad i would say for a repro. 14 bids on that chest so quite a lot of interest.
