    Hallo everybody,
I have bought this decoration plate on a flee market. I cannot find anything about this decor. It is handpainted and on the back there is a mark that looks Japanese for me...
Can somebody help me, which country, name, age etc...

    Thank you very much!

Another vote for Japan, other that that I can't help. Maybe @Mat knows the mark and style.

The mark is "similar" to one shown on Gotheborg for a "distributor" named Suzuki Company active in about 1950, but examples of their import/export wares are much more traditionally Japanese designs.

Yes I noticed some similarity with the Suzuki Company mark, but thought it probably wasn't the right one.

I have seen that mark on Gotheborg as well, but items are different indeed....

You know, when I first saw the plate (without reading the OP or looking at the mark) I was expecting that it would be eastern European - Polish or something like that. The "holder" is strange too.

Can you tell what the material wrapped around it is?

Is "Japan" printed somewhere inside the mark?

I've had Japanese items wrapped that way.....I always thought of it as wicker......or basket material.

I need someone to tell me how to tell wicker from rattan!

I’m reading wicker is a technique and rattan is the material.

So here is where the difference lies – Rattan is a specific material, hence rattan furniture is crafted out of rattan only, but wicker furniture may be crafted out of different materials such as bamboo, straw and even rattan. Recently, synthetic materials are also being used for manufacturing wicker furniture.
