    Hello friends,

I would like to identify and above all understand the signature engraved on the bottom
of this "old oriental man" made of marble, I think, or similar mineral.
It is very cold to the touch, it is as if it had come out now from the refrigerator,
    and it is heavy.
You consider that it is only 13 cm tall and weighs 426 g.
I see a brown patina on the top of the base, it seems to me dry glue,
so I assume that the base and the bust have been glued
I have not proceeded to clean this element, in order to contribute to attributing a dating also as a function of its natural preservation.
    I send related photos,
    thanks

You will probably find it if you scroll down the page.
It will take about an hour or two, give or take.:playful:
But it is a similar figurine. The signature looks like Juk D?

Sorry Gian, I am unable to get to him. He is the only one I see so close to yours. I will keep trying, but I don’t know if I can get to the listing.

Looks like resin to me, bubbles in base, bottom finished on belt sander, etc., if so there’s really not much to be gained by figuring out what’s scratched into the bottom.

me too, i search it for 20 min scrolling down .... nothing .

It could be interesting to understand that sign on bottom and also trying to attribuite a period, like XX century .... :) ?

i worked with photoshop the image and here's the result, what do you all think ?

I don't think the signature(?) will add anything to the value.
I would think 20th century, hand carved.

Yes yes but it's more for my curiosity than the value :)

    195FC135-7733-4638-9130-ED8A6F6870FD.jpeg Boulderdash!

If you want to give it an artsy-fartsy name for when it takes its place in a gallery, how ‘bout “A Resin in the Sun” (deepest apologies to Lorraine Hansberry.)

Since pictures are worth 1000 words apiece, I’ll repeat these and save 2000 words, and maybe OP can explain their non-mineral appearance:
