I've got Sarreguemines under my skin, I've ... ...CONTINUED

Well, I haven't got a definitive answer as to whether the piece I posted was Stained or Deliberate Design. But I have found a similar piece that is described as "Distressed Tea Stains"

This is my Bowl/bottom of Tureen:






And this is one I found on Etsy, described as:

An antique French Sarreguemines ultra distressed Tureen with blue flower transferware decoration and handles in the form of bamboo with leaves. The underside is marked Royat U&C Sarreguemines. The superb naturally distressed tea staining on this ironstone tureen can't be faked and is getting harder and harder to find!







So I think this goes a long way towards supporting my view that the splodges are by design; not staining.

My current question is: Where does the Marque "ROYAT/U & C/SARREGUEMINES" fit in the Timeline in respect to "CARMAN".

I think it needs somebody with the book on Marques published by Sarreguemines to be able to answer that question.

Thank you for opening my eyes to the tea staining. I'm still struggling with the concept but happy to admit I was wrong about your tureen.
