Loving the silver, Dory. Taking the advice on the General Discussion board, I got up at 5 a.m. for a community yard sale. It started it 8, I got there 6:30 a.m. As people were setting up, I asked them if they had any jewelry, and some actually did. The photos below are from thrifting this week and the yard saling today. First, two strands of leopard jasper, one with onyx.

Next some yard sale brooches

Pearls, a sterling charm bracelet, rhinestone necklace, and malachite earrings.

Sterling bracelets. Bottom in an 8 inch Diamonique tennis bracelet that sparkles like crazy. The scarab bracelet is sterling and 14k GF Symmetallic.

 

Continuing, the chain bracelet is sterling, the hoops 14k, faux turquoise and gold pearls.

The best was one yard sale, but it was sad. The lady's sister was bedridden and a voracious home shopping network devotee. Before that, she had been an entertainer. She especially loved pearls. The lot was $30...sterling, costume, pearls...pearls and onyx strand has a 14k clasp, pair of 14k blue topaz and pearl earrings. Necklaces and rings, 14k with gold wash and various stones. Pearls with sterling findings.

I thought this necklace was also gold washed sterling, it is all 14k. Pendant marked Meda is blue topaz and blue and white diamonds. She said she had more, but wanted to go through it. We talked a long time about caretaking and the sadness of losing loved ones. She said she was ready to let go. I told her pearls are my birthstone and I would wear the jewelry in honor of her sister.

A few things I picked up over the last week. A Jere like wall hanging ,3 feet by 3 feet.Perfect for over my couch where I had a problem spot.


A pair of sugar tongs(?) marked "handmade sterling" . The person I got them from thought maybe Native American but I dont see it.




Blenko pitcher . I swore off glass but for for $3 i had too.


6 carnival glass plates. The color is so rich I had to have them.

 

The tongs are not NA.

I didnt think so but the lady I bought them from went on and on. I guess trying to seal the deal ,like I wasnt going to pay $3 !

 

Oh, the stories I hear when people are trying to sell their wares. And I can never resist Carnival glass! Beautiful.

It was a busy Sunday! Renningers, PA had a “special Sunday” with additional dealers and I went to another flea market and a few antique stores.

I look forward to posting the rest of my finds soon but for now just posting this as it’s one of my favorite finds (certainly not of great monetary value but I love them).

“W.T Copeland (& Sons Ltd), Spode Works. KEW pattern. Pattern produced
1882-90. The pattern was named after the Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew, near Richmond, London. The design, with a border of chrysanthemumblooms and geometric style panels around a central stylized floral arrangement in a large vase, with a fence and additional floralin the background. This is the Aesthetic style which became very popular in the 1870s and 1880s and was inspired by Japanese design.”

 

Going to Adams Town and Rennigers is on my bucket list. I would like to go this summer depending on the heat index. Beautiful pattern.

How is the jewelry up there?

 

I actually have not been to that one, I always go to the one in Denver, PA.

I just walk right past the tables with jewelry type stuff so I can’t comment much on them : -) But there is usually some amount of jewelry on outside tables and plenty at the booths inside.

And I started thrifting in the opposite direction....I got this vintage locking cake holder, great shape, $4.
