    Hello all,

Purchased these two necklaces today, would greatly appreciate help with ID! Additionally, how do I present them at their best (otherwise they get a q-tip of vinegar and a second of mineral oil)?

I hope she isn’t unwell :( It would be nice to have her refined knowledge here specifically- in any case I know she’s helped out with somewhat similar necklaces so I might look them up and see if there’s anything I can glean.

Would make a lot of sense, as they were found around Ilford in London, large Indian/Pakistani/Bangladeshi population :)

That would be very cool, although I thought they were tourist pieces so it would surprise me too :D

Could be, or somewhere up on the border. A fair bit of this shows up in London.

Seems to be what is broadly referred to as everyday “Kuchi” jewellery (I googled and this [https://www.lostlover.com.au/blogs/news/kuchi-jewellery-headpieces] seems to cover it), so I’ll describe it as Kuchi until further notice. Nice to have larger pieces to wear to museums etc, and as I’m leaving London in less than a month just as well I found it now!

My long suffering partner is a Scot, he has convinced me that Edinburgh is cheaper with just as much culture so we’re starting over up there :p

The Scots are a bit more canny than the English I’m used to, but I’ll try for silver anyway... and if no marmalade perhaps a fried Mars Bar would do?:playful::playful:;)

I cleaned them up to my taste (didn’t really touch anything but the pendants) and thought I would leave them here as a conclusion:

B3FEE80D-568F-47C4-9B33-3FF765018AB7.jpeg I might swing by Bellore Rashbel and find replacements for the white bead and blue gem but I am happy as is :)

Can’t deny Glasgow’s cultural significance, and the Kelvingrove is unrivalled in the country as far as I know. I have never taken the time to look into the Mackintosh landmarks, perhaps a staycation is in order? :)

We'll be expecting to see lots of Miracle & cairngorm jewellery from you. A grouse foot kilt pin or 2.

Miracle was made in Birmingham. ;)

Glasgow is my ancestry. I've had the best hangovers of my life there.

Hmmm - maybe a tasting of all the single-malts on offer up there? Possibly a bad idea....
