Enameled surface painting, artist RK, children's illustrator?

    This small painting is painted on a rectangular thin plaque that appears to be coated with white enamel, coolish to touch. It has a horizontal crack, but hasn't split into two, maybe because there is a thin sheet of strengthening material internally. Does not attract a magnet so presumably non ferrous and no signs of rusting. Not ivory, not porcelain.

    15cm x 10.6cm.

    Thickness only 1.3mm

    Any ideas on material or indeed the painting/artist? Initials RK and the painting is perhaps early 20thC. Found with the large lot of damaged porcelain, mainly Worcester

    Aesthetic Period, I would guess, 1860s/70s in appearance. Yes, there is a Walter Crane/Kate Greenaway sort of style to it.
