    Hello Aaroncab, I was doing research on a lamp with a pierced brass base that was brought to our gallery for consignment and I came across this post. Do you still have this lampshade?

    I have the bottom part it is from Syria. I believe the script is old Kufic Style or Persian fonts. These were incense burners converted into lamps. The second image shows what they looked like complete.

    If yours looks exactly like the one in the second photo, it is Damascus ware. Damascus ware is brass inlaid with several other metals.
    It is much more rare and valuable than brass only.
