I'm looking for information please on a Norval Morrisseau print titled Life Cycle. This is my Aunt's and she purchased two prints at a garage sale from a lady who got them in a locker storage sale around 15-20 years ago.

The other print is Ravens and I could find a bit of info on it but not on this one.

    Any information is appreciated.
    Thank you 20210624_064805.jpg 20210624_064737.jpg

You know the date, name of the print & artist and size of the limited edition - what else do you want to know?

I guess I'm wondering if there are any trivial tidbits on it and possible value. I'm moving my Aunt in to assisted living and she has quite a few prints although I think with a lot of them the framing cost as much as the art. I'm doing my best trying to sort through her things and I'm worried that I'll sell something for her not understanding it's value.

I'd like to keep things that are of some value for her, either monetary value or something like this print that may not hold a lot of value but may have an interesting story to it.

It's a challenging process sorting through someone else's life and trying to downsize and retain their life in a respectful manner. She has had some pieces for a very long time and I'm hoping I can help her sort through items and give her information that can make it easier for her to decide to part with some of her things.

    Thank you

yes...that's tough.....try and get her to tell you , what brings her joy to look at everyday !
    That won't get stolen.....where she's going !!!

Norval.....framed in good condition ..has value.....above what you might expect..

The unsold one with the $400-$600 estimate was from 2012. In my opinion only, that value was a bit high for 2012; but his reputation has been on the rise, and today, who knows. His works have been faked, but if these have been in the family for 15-20 years, they're probably genuine.

I am unaware of his prints being faked......only the canvas art work..;)

Are you located in Canada? Easily sellable at Canadian auction houses and would likely do well in the US as well. Value? Probably in the mid hundreds to low thousands. Also might be something worth holding on to.

His signed and numbered prints seldom exceed the high hundreds. Open editions with questionable signatures would yield far less.
