All three are oil on canvas, appear to have been revarnished and/or conserved by a gallery in NYC & one in Oakland at some point. The Oakland gallery appears to have closed down so I can't follow up with that lead. The artist doesn't appear to be American, but I never was good with signatures. All the paintings appear to have been restretched at some point, likely during their time in a gallery. All I have to go on is that the paintings appear to be pre 1940's, as you can still see the original nail holes, the artist likely isn't American. Any help identifying the artist, what the set might be worth, or any additional leads will be most appreciated!

The good news is... You have good taste. The bad news is... They're all copies of Rembrandt paintings.

One appears to be a copy of Rembrandt's Man with a Golden Helmet.

What's the chance that it was Rembrandt that copied this artist?XD

Man in the Golden Helmet is no longer attributed to Rembrandt, but that didn't happen until the mid-1980s.

You do know Rembrandt painted in the early to mid-1600s, right?

Followup: apparently museum quality hand reproduction paintings of well known artists is a thing- here's one for example: https://www.1st-art-gallery.com/Rembrandt-Van-Rijn/Man-In-A-Golden-Helmet-C.-1650.html

That said, these paintings all look proper well aged, guesstimate 50-80 years,. curious if there's a value on well done, vintage reproductions- as once more, it's clear all three of these paintings have been to a conservator at some point & have been revarnished their lifetime.

Also, upon close inspection the backside is dated 1500 so perhaps my theory still holds true!XD

Max Grumbacher established his company’s humble beginnings by hand making brushes at his kitchen table in New York City. By the 1960s Grumbacher became an art materials empire offering artists nearly every supply imaginable.
