Featured Help me with marks, England.

Can someone identify the hallmarks? Is it sterling silver?

London 1702 - Very jealous! Yes, English Sterling silver.

 

Thank you! Do you also know who the maker’s is?

 

Unfortunately I can't quite make out enough of the mark to make a stab at it, I will scan my books later and see if anything resembles it. Guessing it ends in an 'E'

 

In my mind, I see the date letter for 1711-1712 and the use of Britannia standard which is 958/1000, not Sterling 925/1000. I am jealous too!
Unfortunately I could not find the maker. Hopefully Ce BCA have better luck.

It's very similar, but the spur goes down and out of the ring on the 1711 and across and contained on the 1702

 

The dot may be a "grain de remede" and point to a Huguenot maker.

 

I agree, it's 1702-1703, Queen Anne.

 

The Queen Anne date adds a nice premium to an already great looking piece. The overall pic is too small to tell but I'm guessing the scene is later Victorian meddling as usual - doesn't seem to harm the prices as much these days though.

 

I assume that the beaker has been given a later chased decoration. Most objects during Queen Anne's reign were undecorated.

You might check the handle to see if there's a less obscured maker's mark - would think Sam Dell, registered in 1697, a good possibility...

Well found, that certainly does look like a strong possibility.

@fettan4 - Is that a spacer in the handle, or just the way the light is catching a ridge?
