I think from the 1980s maybe a little earlier, it’s marked “Pue. Mex.” with a makers mark “TB”. I haven’t found who that is yet.

 

Picked these 1948 bread dishes up at .99¢ for both(taped together). Just thought it was nostalgic, me coming from the New York area and all. Will clean them up and put to real use. After all, when you live in Florida, most all family thinks you’re a Hotel. These are bread dishes...right? . The Ambassador Hotel on Park Ave was demolished 1966.

Kinda feel like Marilyn Monroe, had these actual ones on her room service cart while sippin a little vino.

Quick question on these bread dishes. I was so focus on the stamp on the back, I didnt notice the difference between the two until I cleaned them up. First off, only one of them is marked 1948 plus it has the “I” and “S” icons stamp too. The other one does not have either. But what made me more curios is the dish with the extra stamps on the bottom, has what appears to be a coat of arms on the inside-side. this is not on the other. Doesnt seem to be associated with International Silver. Could it be a monogram?

 

Geeezes, been googling left and right and all along its right in front of my face, right down to the chain links across the bottom. Duh!

Great finds, miss you guys. I have been working 11-12 hours a day, too tired and too rainy for any great finds recently. I do believe my uncle's house is sold, tentative closing in the next two weeks..... I have been busy tying up ends in that department, too. Will check in with some pictures ASAP.

No, maybe not. But some male hatpin maker may not have considered that his idea of a victor might not be quite appropriate for uppity women. I just like the idea that once upon a time hatpins were seen as a danger at public assemblies when now it is assault rifles.

 

I don't think an "assault rifle" has been used in a crime since the North Hollywood shootout in 1997.

Hi,
I forgot the rule of when Hat pins had to less than so many inches. If they were longer they were considered WEAPONS. I have a 14" hat pin. I have seen many a one shorter but remember my great aunt had that was 18" long.
