thumbnail (1).jpg thumbnail.jpg thumbnail (1).jpg thumbnail (1).jpg thumbnail.jpg thumbnail.jpg thumbnail (1).jpg Hello happy hunters! My name is Rodney Coe and I am located smack dab middle of Amish Paradise. No literally. My family and I live in Paradise, PA. I could throw a baseball and hit the spot where the Amish school shooting took place. Aside from coming home to the neighbors cow in my front lawn(yesterday) life is pretty quite out here. Much of the furniture in my area may be Plain but the craftsmanship is not! For work I am a full time actor at Sight and Sound theatre in Strasburg PA. Currently playing Nicodemus in JESUS and love what I do. Was Aaron in Moses and Jonah in JONAH. But...I also love Oil Paintings and Furniture from the late 1700's to the early 1900's. Three amazing kids and a wife that I love more than the day we married. That's me in a nutshell.

Lets get the ball rolling shall we? this is the piece that brought me here for some expertise. Can anybody tell me what they may know about this piece?

Welcome to the Forum, Rodney! :)
This would be best in the Furniture Forum, but I will ask @James Conrad and @verybrad to take a look, just as it’s easier.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

WOW!!!! I love the wood, the lock (?) or latch, the hinges and the carving!!!! Where did it come from? Looks much too ornate to be from Amish country!! For starters, what can YOU tell US about it???? What's on the inside as well?? More images with the doors open???? Maybe, something out of a church???? Also, if you go back in to edit and click on the very top image in your post.....it will post your images as FULL SIZE.....try to do that ALWAYS!!!

Almost forgot, Rodney and Melanie!!! Welcome to Antiquers!!!! There are many furniture people on board here, but I'll just tag a couple to get some input started! It slows down in the wee hours, but this is a world wide site, so someone is usually checking in!!! HAHA, I just got sniped on tagging by the above member :D:D:D....can't wait to hear what others say!!!

Umm...the shooting....I remember it well , because of the way they demolished the school in the dead of the night.....I till don't get that.
But that's a conversation for another day !!!!

    Welcome !!!

    Welcome, Rodney and Melanie.
I'm with James, Gothic Revival style, but not of the period it is normally associated with. Looks mid 20th century to me.

Personally (ahem), I think it's Spanish. From the iron-bound cathedral phase.

    Hallelujah!
