    Hello all!

I've returned with a purchase I made today.

Did a bit of research and Underwood & Underwood (the photographers) were well known for for stereo-views etc. as well as photography.

I believe this photo is of WW1 Troops watching a well know boxing match. However, I can't figure out who's fighting.

The reason I don't believe it's just a common fight, is due to the amount of people watching. From rooftops etc.

Any help would be appreciated! IMG_3636.JPG IMG_3642.JPG

One boxer is black the other white.
Union Jack in one corner and Stars & Stripes in the other, most if not all viewers appear to be in uniform.
My guess is an inter service bout.

There also looks to be two flags on the base of the ring, French?

Could def. be right. It would make sense that they are flying the fighters flags!

Is this in the UK ? The reason I ask is, North Camp in sussex had large boxing matches which thousands turned out for.

I'm not sure to be honest. Maybe someone can tell from the barracks/buildings?
