I don't know anything about furniture. I did try to look up the manufacturer without any success. I'm wondering if my father (who wrote the tag) misread the manufacturer name. This was his grandmother's chair.

This is one of the items that was taken when family was here for the funeral, and I was just curious about it.

Era and style would be helpful. Thanks!

2nd half 19th century rocker, american, seat looks like home made replacement, not a clue on who made your chair as literally millions were in this era.

Thank you. I like the chair but did not think it was anything extra special. Just good to know that a $2 million chair didn't walk out of the house underneath my nose....lol.

LOL, yeah, no worries there, trust me. It would likely cost more to restore the seat correctly than chair is worth which is not all that unusual these days. Your 2 million piece is safe or yet to be discovered!

Do you think that could be a note from a different chair? I only ask because he mentions arms. Anyway, this is from page 47 The Woodworker 1903, I think I read it correctly.

The L.G. Fuliam & Son Co is to be organized at Ludlow Vt with a capital of $60,900 for the purpose of manufacturing chairs. A new four-story factory will be built.

"rocker arm" as in rocker piece, no?

Hmmmmm, possible, tag also says "inscribed on left rocker arm" which suggests manufacturer stamp/label.

Oh no, woe is me. What have I done?

Actually, there's a couple of Weller vases that walked on out of here that I wish I had gotten pics of cause I have not been able to find a single example of them and think they're probably worth more than the chair (though not $2M worth!).

That is an excellent point. I think he may have meant the rocker on the bottom as the family is not exactly rife with antiques that could have been confused with one another.. IDK though.

I had wanted to see if I could find the markings myself, but I didn't take the time to...the family convergence on the house the couple of days before the funeral made me want to hide and not think about anything.

ETA: You have excellent researching skills SIS. I looked all over the place, and though I found many references to a Fuliam family in that area, I couldn't find any furniture makers with the exact name.
