    Hi Slykitty,
Getting an expert opinion is definitely a good move, especially if there is some value or confusion about the painting. Our local State Art Gallery has regular walk-in days for appraisals. I have recently had Christies, Sothebys, Bonhams and local auction houses in to my home to offer an opinion on a very confusing (Victorian) oil painting I have and I found their help and advice invaluable.
Good luck and please keep us posted. :)

I had an appraisal by Sotheby's on another object years ago and they were very helpful. Not familiar with Bonhams. :shame: Thanks, I will check them out. Already looked over Christie's online appraisal system. I'll keep posting anything new I find out. Thanks for the great tips. :cat:
