This is the original back porch on our house (now enclosed), thus the walls of windows and brick. The ceiling is the original wainscoting. You'll notice first off that the sofa and ottoman are NOT antique! Hey, you've got to unwind sometimes! :) :)

The lamp is a Chicago Mosaic Co. ca. 1910 on a walnut base ca. 1890. I believe the shade has been on the base since the shade was made, so it probably happened once the original cloth shade wore out. At the base of the lamp is our Boston Terrier's kennel, she's taking a nap right now. To the right is a super comfy rocker, then a Colorado ballot box ca. 1915; the original patent was 1901. It's been in the family since it was made. Inside and on top are two Muller Freres vases from France ca. 1925.

    Here she is.....Ellie!

Here we have a three-unit walnut Craftsman bookcase ca. 1911 from Globe Wernicke. To the left is an oval parlor table ca. 1875; on top are the three original Florentine lamps from Aladdin ca. 1925. At the base of the table is Ellie's toy basket. There is also an Illinois crock with a lid and an oak step ladder with a few fun things on it, including a cobalt chalice from 1925 and a bronze ca. 1900 featuring a young Bohemian from Paris.

So yeah, when we're not loving our antiques sometimes we just kick back and watch Netflix, much like you.....and you.......and you do!!

Nice comfy room, which still shows the owners' love of history.
Very cute! You didn't wake her up for us, did you?

Another great room. Love the furball. So cute.
Never heard of Florentine Lamps, but I call dibs on the jadite or green one.
    Thanks for sharing.

All the dogs in my home are called by the same name. Nipper likes it when I play records.

My lighting takes a slightly different path.

Nothing fancy here, but this is a shot of my living room wall. Each piece on it has ties to my ancestors.

Warm, personal history. The tools are nicely highlighted with the stripe of darker reclaimed wood, the roofline too.

Love that tool display against the board and batten. Very appropriate. I'd love to sit there with a beer and hear the stories.

Ellie definitely knows she's a pretty girl, and if she forgets then one of us will usually tell her within an hour or two :) :)

Yea, I saw my shoes there after I posted the picture. :wideyed::eek::wacky::arghh::eggface::facepalm:I'm DEFINITELY like the rest of you after all!:playful:;):happy:
