Last plate. Polar bear was from the antique show, $3. The pendant to the left of him is sterling and garnet, $5. Everything else a dollar: gold heart is Betsey Johnson. The circular CZ earring jackets are sterling. The screwback GF earrings in the center were 50 cents, Amco, pearls genuine. 20210614_152524.jpg

I recognize those holly earrings; I have the same ones. Wear them too.

I do too usually, but this weekend's was a bit of a bust. Then again the "estate sale" afterward was worse.

I have the brooch to match it in my Christmas jewelry box. What happened with the estate sale?

I spent $1. Total. The pictures beforehand didn't look promising and the promise of the pictures proved true. Zippo. They had two pair of those weighted silver candle holders for $35 and $65 at the front register. Told the guy running it that they'd get scrap value and no more - about $25 for both pair and the kid at the desk said maybe they'd get someone who would love them for what they were. This was the second day, so... good luck with that.

I spent my dollar on three packages of muffin cup liners. I was out of them. The free bin at the tag sale was superior. Got two vintage Ecko baking loaf pans for free.

At least you got free stuff you can use. Our estate sales have been crazy lately. So many people lined up at the crack of dawn....I stick to thrifts, flea markets, and outdoor shows. I keep hoping for more church sales.

I've gone to two church sales even though I know they're never any good. They were church sales. There are no flea markets here except on Sundays when I can't go. The good local thrifts have mostly never reopened, and one is closed for good. The local Ill Will central management sends "anything good" to auction instead of putting it in the store. The only Salvos are distant, and Savers is usually a bust no matter when I get there. The tag sales have been iffy and rarely good for much.

It's just as well I have all sorts of stuff and am more thank thinking of closing down when my Ebay store renewal comes up.

Recent finds, all late 19th century: a British agricultural worker’s heavy linen smock, a genuine Mintons aesthetic tile (not a reproduction), and a French copper sauce pan. Even when I get the pan retinned I’d see at least a $100 profit if I decided to sell it… which is unlikely!

I head down to the shore towns for church sales. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19, they are not happening much.

Not really much to show, have only been out once lately as there have been some issues with the new house we bought . 2 months after we moved in the fridge died on a fri night with 100s of dollars worth of meat in the freezer. frantically had to dig to find one that wasnt 2-3 months backorder ,bought it then the delivery guys couldnt get it through the door so they left it in the garage. I was furious.Lawn guy crapped out on us so had to buy a mower, etc, etc. LOTS of money spent lately.Anyhoo, thanks for letting me vent!
