Little blue pot - who made it?

It's witch sitting in one of those '70s bucket chairs

 

My favorite blue-purple shades... But not a clue about it.

 

The color looks lovely... although it also looks like a different color in each photo.

 

VAN?

 

Wonder if those are conjoined Hs or conjoined As. If As with a Van above it, wonder if Van Briggle?? The conjoined As are for Artus and Anne Briggle - their logo. I really doubt Van Briggle for not enough markings, their conjoined AAs are in a rectangle and above Van Briggle, and bottom just doesn't look Van Briggle.

The color does look like their Light Ming Blue glaze from the late teens or Ming Blue glaze from the 1920s:

I don't believe I have ever seen a Van Briggle mark like that.
I *may* have a book - I will check.

 

While I am sure this book, Colorado Pottery, doesn't show all the pieces, I'm not seeing this shape or that mark.

 

If they are VB, the As would still be in a box.
Even when he was still working for Rookwood his signature was different than what is on your vase, and in his early years on his own, it was a single A within a box, or just Van Briggle.
So . . . while I could certainly be wrong, I don't think this is from VB.

 

I agree, Messi. I also haven't seen one of their marks like this. The thought that there was double/conjoined AAs and Bev mentioning "Van," I thought I would throw that idea up for grabs. Not only the markings but the bottom as a whole screams not Van Briggle.

I did rotate the pic getting the double whatever up over the scribble to look more like the position of the double AAs on VB pieces. It didn't help; however, now can see a line above or below the double letters. According to some of the Van Briggle sites, the markings on their pieces were much less cluttered before 1920. After 1920 USA, etc.... were added. Maybe the enlarged following pics might help someone else ID the maker.
