Hi! I have two pairs of earrings that have Makers Marks that I have tried for months looking for answers- to no avail. Hoping someone here can give me some answers :). The first pair (coin) earrings are heavy. Year? They have the stamp of 800 <80% silver> on them along with some other markings- The other three marks I only could identify one mark "GR" and came up with that they were made in Italian province Grosseto. I did the best I could with the photos to get the clearest shots. The second pair are not as valuable but not finding out who made them either- The symbol kinda looks like a W on its side or a snake shape. Any information on either would be great and thanks for any help on the makers and possible what they may sell for. front view .jpg clearest shot marking.JPG IMG_0027.JPG IMG_0034.JPG IMG_0039.JPG IMG_0025.JPG

Unfortunately the site I usually check for Italian makers (by region) does not have a list for the GR region.

    Thanks for responding!
Took me over a year to find what I did find on those- was from a lady in Europe that I happen to see a pair of earrings she was selling that had the same kind of French or Shepherd Hook that was ? melted or soldered (*solid ) to the back of the earring. She was the one that said that they were from the Italian province Grosseto. I'm guessing it's a small town. Any idea on the other pair's mark?

That fish mark is one I associate with 1980s Chinese cloisonne exports. Back when Chinese exports were cool, they used to mark that jewelry.

The fish are indeed Fish Enterprises. Crown and Fish are the same company, Crown is the US sub. I've a fair few pieces, some still on cards. They manufacture in Thailand now. Odd bunch of people.

Yes the mark is for Grosseto, the name of both a town and a province in southern Tuscany.

And another yes to Fish jewellery, from the UK, known for very nice enamel jewellery. They never made cloisonné, btw.

Ok So I'm guessing that since these are Cloisonne that these were made in US when they took over the company? They are a beautiful pair of earrings with a unique clip. Something I don't see often on earrings

They are not cloisonné, they don't have soldered wire to hold the enamel. If you want to name a technique, they are champlevé enamel. The mark is the UK Fish mark, not the US Crown mark, so UK.;)
They are very nice, Fish jewellery always is.

Both Fish and Crown were originally UK made, they're now Thailand made. I've some history somewhere if I can find it. The British bloke who owned both brands sold out to a fundie Christian South Carolina company.

If the number is a 38, then the maker is Nautilus; the number was assigned on 21-March-2001.
