Interesting. Looks like there’s a white, double-line arrow pointing down. The pit looks like there may be remains of a bolt in it but I can’t tell 4 sure. If u have magnet, maybe u can see if it attracts what’s in the pit.

I think these are fantastic ! Knee jerk reaction was possibly Mexican,maybe Mayan style. I love the paint layers.

 

My feeling is that these are recent sculptures, made to look like "antiques". The body shapes remind me of Chinese depictions of chubby children. But the paint makes no sense at all. The "wear" appears random and artificial, and the distribution of the colors does not reflect any logical original paint scheme.

Interesting, they certainly “look old” and aside from that white arrow, none of my fake alarms went off. I wouldn’t have picked up on any clues from the paint colors or distribution anyway. One thing OP could do if he still thinks they are old is to have a few little pieces of the paint tested qualitatively by a laboratory. Modern paint and very old paint will be easy to differentiate once lab report is in hand.
