A serviette/napkin ring that used to belong to a girl named Annelies. Dutch, Belgian?
That is likely to be brass rather than gold. Which would mean it is silver plated.

I don't know much about silver plate, so I will tag a member who may know. @Bakersgma , if you're up to taking a look, what do you think?

Those are not "hallmarks." And the symbol in the middle is a man's head in profile. Normally French maker's marks on silver plated items is shown in a square rather than a diamond shaped cartouche, but I would expect there to be more than a single letter. Maybe this is the exception that proves the rule?

Can we see a bigger picture of what is on the far right?

Does look more like a 2 in this new picture, but even if it is a 2 it means nothing in the French silver marking system.

    The thing is, siverplated
None of the marks do. I still think it is plated.

Just read this back, very interesting remark.:pompous:
I have no idea what I was going to say though. We had a thunderstorm here yesterday, which resulted in a deluge in the kitchen. I guess I just hit the 'post' button when I heard my husband yell from the kitchen.:hilarious:
Everything is OK now, but we'll have to get builders in.:nailbiting:
