Hi I'm new to all this so hope I do this correctly. We have a pair of jugs that we would like to know the maker of Hubby inherited them they were his Grandparents. Am based in UK so guessing English maybe welsh. The mark if it is one is a funny red shape, stamped on the bottom of both is 11918. One also has a 7 stamped near the edge and a scratch that could be a 2 or 7. The other one has a stamped 1 with either a 0 or u next to it. They are 6 inches tall and 3 inches in diameter. Have always liked them would just like to know the maker and age if image3.jpeg image1_kindlephoto-11370175.jpg image2.jpeg image5.jpeg image6.jpeg image4.jpeg anyone can help please.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

Maybe the Porcelain People can read it better??? It LOOKS like it starts with an 'L' and ends with a 'd'???

They are Bohemian or Czech and date to the very late 19thC or early 20thC. They copy the style of Royal Worcester from the period and were much more affordable. It is unlikely you will be able to trace the factory unfortunately, afaik there are no catalogues or publications for this type of item.

Thanks for that, we wondered if they were 'seconds' as the necks have some sort of design impression that is not very detailed and some of the handle gilt paint is on the body. Still like them and they would look nice on the fireplace if I could trust the cats not to knock them off, display cabinet it is.
