Country of Origin & Age on Filigree, Pin Hinge Bracelet?

I usually associate filigree work with Portugal, Spain and other European countries but I know much was made in other continents. The pin hinge throws me off since I think of it as more "village" and less major mfgr. product. But I am far from an expert.
This bracelet has filigree flowers and a pin hinge. It tests as sterling or higher.

Can anyone give me a good sense of country of origin and age? Thanks! SS_Filigree_flowers_pin_hinge_brac_3.jpg SS_Filigree_flowers_pin_hinge_brac_1.jpg

    The marks may be Egyptian.

Agree, I think the mark on the receiver pin bar looks like an Egyptian town mark, possibly Alexandria.

Yes, Egyptian. It has the Egyptian mark for .800 silver, and as Ce said, a town mark at the top. It could indeed be Alexandria, with that concave curve at the start.

The marks do not look Egyptian to me & neither does the bracelet. One of the other countries that uses eastern Arabic numerals for their assay marks. Lebanon, perhaps?

I see only one mark, and it looks very Egyptian to me, and Egypt makes a lot of filigree link bracelets.
Maybe you were looking at the marks Aznatalie posted? Those are not from the bracelet. The one below is:

You didn't see the other 4 marks?

Don't you think it would be helpful if you told us where they are, if that isn't too much trouble?

I see one more like the one on the hinge, on a link. It has another one next to it, which I can't see very well. It could be a national mark or a maker's mark. Presumably all elements are stamped, in the Egyptian manner, but until someone shows them or points them out, I won't be able to see them.
Anyway, the mark I posted is an Egyptian mark, and it is on the bracelet.

I didn't spot them until I just looked again, on the arm of one of the flowers (3 o'clock first flower to left of pin in image one). Looks like the Egyptian mark for 800 silver and date coding perhaps for 1941 (or 1985).

They are Egyptian, but I see a bit more of a mark than the 1941 one:

Here is another set, also with the Egyptian town mark at the top:

You're right I got tangled up. I'm on board with Egyptian 800. I mostly see tourist souvenir jewellery. This seems more like something an Egyptian woman would wear.

I agree, not souvenir Ancient Egyptian Revival, but Egyptian full stop.;) Mind you, the souvenir stuff is usually very well made.

Yikes! I wrote yesterday to say I had more close-up pics but I can't figure out how to post them to a reply. I've only ever added images to a new post. But my message never went, aaaarrggghh! How do I add more images now? Thanks so much!

When you type a reply, there is an 'Upload a File' button at the bottom, next to 'Post Reply'.:)

Can't believe I missed that! Thanks, AJ! I think I had not logged in as I just tested that now and the "upload file" button is not shown unless logged in.

Here are the closer images. I will try to research on 925-1000.com unless others have site suggestions for Egyptian marks.

BTW - the first image shows one link with a few misshapen curls--does that affect value a lot? Merci! SS_Filigree_flowers_pin_hinge_brac_5.jpg SS_Filigree_flowers_pin_hinge_brac_4.jpg SS_Filigree_flowers_pin_hinge_brac_6.jpg

You could take a look here:
    http://www.silvercollection.it/EGYPTSILVERHALLMARKS.html
Misshapen isn't much of a problem. There is a break in one of the filigree rings, I would take that into account. If you sell it, it is best if you mention both the break and the misshapen part.

Hello AJ, by all means, I will mention and show the damage. I forgot about silvercollection.it ---I'm using a borrowed laptop (hate typing on a tiny flat pad instead of a full-size keyboard on my lap!) and I have none of my fave websites saved on this. Moving really messes up your business and your passions!
    Thanks so much!
