Five ounces. Five inches long. Four inches wide. ~800 silver or completely silver solder covered. No maker's mark. I got big and gaudy. Any other descriptors?

It has a sort of medieval look about it, some revival piece since it is unlikely to be 14th C. I can't see a civilian wearing anything so big so possibly for a priest, like a pectoral cross. The filed curb chain is not usually seen before the 1960s.

Looks Central or South American to me, and yes, this would be comparatively recent, civilian wear.

I was thinking Mexico or South America as well based on some other pieces from those places. Nice piece.

I think the chain could be a later addition

Done a little more crudely than the rest

Having to join two sheets to make one big enough may point to a place with limited resources

Mexican work is done like that. Part of the reason for people collecting it is the combination of sophisticated design with primitive execution. Californians especially buy this stuff and decorate with it or wear it. My son's college roomie used to drive down to Mexico and load up on furniture, jewelry, household décor items, and drive back to Fresno and sell it at flea markets (they call them swap meets.)

That looks Peruvian to me. If it was Mexican it would be loaded with marks, unless it's a LOT older than I think it is. Peruvian stuff may be marked and may not.
