No question here, just show and tell of a couple of things I’ve photographed recently. I particularly like the graphic on the lid of the box for this board game. It was a gift from a great-grand uncle to my father. Also in the box were panels from a comic strip called “Just Kids”. There’s no date associated with the game, but one of the comic panels is dated 1929. The game was made by Amuso, which I think may still be around. Easy to play. Just toss a die and follow the trail... but don’t land on space 29! Just a touch less than politically correct. The box is about 12” by 8 1/2”, and the board, which folds in three, is about 10” by 16”. A Trip Round the World This next game has a nice chromo on the lid of the box, and inside are 5 more chromos, each with a different scene. Each of those scenes has been stamped to make 9 octagonal cut-outs. You throw the cutouts into a hat, distribute the cards, and randomly pick cut-outs, match the number on the back to the number on the card, and the first to get a full card wins. This one says “Designed in England” but printed by JW Spear and Sons in Germany. Since one of the scenes shows a goat cart, I wonder if that gives a date around 1910, when that fad was in full swing. The box measures 8 3/4” by 9 1/2”, and each card is about 8” by 6”. Farmyard Lotto
