It's a little short for the typical salad serving fork, but might have been for serving meat.

 

Looks like a fish fork .. Joy.

To comment on some of the ideas here - Sardine servers usually have a wider and shorter business end without sharp points - in fact, with no points at all. Asparagus is usually served with tongs, not a fork. Fish servers are usually flatter and without the barbed points.

 

Totally agree with Bakers.

I'm thinking it might be a Lobster fork. If not that then just a Cold Meat fork.

 

I just look up and try to find some information on replacement.com. The fork is very likely to be any fork serve for fish or meat instead of salad or vegetable.

 

We should note that this particular tine shape for a 5 3/8 inch fork was not found on Replacements.

I can't imagine eating corn off a cob with a fork! What a mess, but maybe not as messy as picking it up and using your teeth (pass the floss please).

 

Yeah, but you'd never get a fork this wide into your mouth without sticking your tongue with those barbs. Ouch!
