Does anybody know what this is?

    Hello, this looks like a vase to me but it has a hole in the side? The other question I have is what do the number and letters on the bottom mean? It is a little more than 4.3" tall (11cm) 5 cm wide base and weights 116 grams. I would appreciate any help that you may provide. Thank you.

    Since there are neither British sterling marks nor the word sterling, it's likely silver plated, but I could not find an exact match under silverplate on either 925-1000 or silvercollection. The use of shields for the the 3 letters inclines me to think UK, rather than US.

    In addition to the hole in the side, there are also those 2 triangular holes underneath, so it was probably one part of a larger thing. Perhaps an epergne?

    If it is (and I'm not saying it isn't, anything is possible in UK electroplate) no one has documented this particular mark.
